Home on the Range

In watercolor and colored pencil, this pet portrait of Jackson for Ash’s Antlers captures the likeness of this paint horse that is embraced by the elements of his Canadian prairie life. Ash creates dream catchers with antlers and requested Red-tailed hawk smudging feathers to accent this piece. Various flowers that grow on her farmland (such as black eye Susan, common harebell, prairie crocus) were added for a personalized touch and a pop of color. For an inside joke of sorts, oat plants were added because Ash has called Jackson is a “fatty” for getting loose and binge-eating a bunch of oats. Despite his occasional naughty streak, he’s a stunning horse and was a pleasure to immortalize in paints and pencil.

This piece is matted with care to your size specifications. 11″x14″ artwork double-matted (fits 16″x20″ frames).

Note: Watermark is not on final print.
