March 2016 – Art Class offerings

Good morning, class! (This is when you all respond in unison: “Good morning, Professor Craz!”)

I am offering quite a selection of art classes this March. Markers, Colored Pencil, Mixed Media, OH MY!

Three classes through The Art Store in Henrietta, NY and one class through the Rochester Brainery in Rochester, NY’s Village Gate.

ART STORE CLASSES:

Please call The Rochester Art Store at (585) 424-6600 or stop in during store hours to enroll.

Payment for the class is due at the time of sign up to reserve your spot. In the event the class is cancelled by The Art Store, students will receive a full refund. If you wish to withdraw from a class, you must cancel one week before the first meeting to receive a refund minus $20 registration fee. No refunds will be given after this time. Supply lists available in store or via email upon request.

Colored Pencil Basics Workshop
Wednesday, March 2nd
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Class Fee: $ 50 for workshop
Supply cost: $ 53
Colored pencils are great for creating your own artwork or coloring adult coloring books. In this course, you will harness the power of this under-appreciated artistic medium. This one day workshop will cover many topics including: an overview of coloring and shading techniques; a discussion of different brands and their qualities; and instruction on how to store and care for your colored pencils.
Multimedia Drawing Workshop
 Wednesday, March 9th
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Class Fee: $ 50 for workshop
Supply cost: $ 50
This workshop will give intermediate artists an opportunity to experiment with different mediums to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Mediums used will include watercolor, marker, colored pencil, pen, collage, and found items if desired. Layering techniques will be discussed to keep a cohesive piece in mind, but the focus will be to play with new concepts and experiment.
Intro to Coloring with Markers
Wednesdays, March 16th – March 30th
5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Class Fee: $100 for 3 sessions
Supply cost: $ 70 – $ 110
This course is an introduction to the techniques and materials that turn Prismacolor markers (and other alcohol based markers) into your greatest artistic weapon. Students will learn helpful tricks on how to give their artwork texture and depth. Coloring pages illustrated by the teacher will be supplied.

 

ROCHESTER BRAINERY CLASS:

Using References for Drawing
SAMSUNG CSCMonday, March 21st
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Class Fee: $15 for 1 session

References for drawing are everywhere but are you using them to their full advantage? Learn multiple ways to utilize photo, video, and live references for drawing and how to properly credit your sources when selling or posting to the internet. This is a keystone class that is recommended for any level of drawing experience. Supplies will be available in class: Mechanical Pencils, Paper, Erasers, Rulers – bringing your own materials is recommended but not required.
